At the Annual Membership Meeting on Sunday, June 21, 2015, OMTA members voted to change the Constitution and Bylaws to eliminate the requirement for a music degree for Active Membership, thereby eliminating the Provisional Membership category. This requirement has been in place for 100 years.
After a lively discussion of the issue, members voted overwhelmingly in favor of the change. Florida now remains the only state affiliate in MTNA with specific membership requirements beyond paying dues.
