The Oregon Music Teachers Association (OMTA) is affiliated with the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). The MTNA membership year runs from July 1 to June 30. MTNA dues for new MTNA/OMTA applicants joining between January 1st and June 30 are prorated by 50%. The student membership year begins Oct 1 and ends Sept 30; student dues are not pro-rated for a partial year.

OMTA has 14 district organizations as well as collegiate chapters, each of which provide additional service to its local teachers and charges modest fees. If you’re not sure which district you live and work in, please see our Districts page. The amount of local district dues are listed on the MTNA online membership application form when you select the local organization from the drop down list.

MTNA, OMTA and the district organizations offer a variety of discounted dues and fees for seniors and student members. To qualify for the senior rate, you must turn 70 years of age before the beginning of the membership year. To qualify for collegiate membership, you must be enrolled full-time at an accredited institution.

When you join OMTA, you will be offered the opportunity to purchase OMTA syllabus materials.

Finally, if you are a member of a collegiate chapter of the MTNA, you may be asked to pay chapter dues. Those will be listed on the MTNA online membership application form when you select the chapter you are joining.

If you have questions about membership, dues or fees, contact the president of the local district in your area or the State Membership Chair.

If you are ready to give membership a try, visit MTNA to sign up.
