OMTA recognizes the contribution of outstanding teachers, composers and leaders in Oregon.

MTNA Foundation Fellow

The Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Fellow program offers a meaningful method for honoring extraordinary leaders while supporting the efforts of the MTNA Foundation Fund through a donation to the Foundation Fund in an individual’s name.

Nellie Tholen Excellence in Teaching Award

The Oregon Music Teachers Association (OMTA) Teaching Award brings recognition to members who have demonstrated exceptional and inspirational music teaching, who have contributed greatly to their communities and to OMTA, and who have been members of OMTA for at least 20 years.

OMTA Composer of the Year

OMTA and MTNA are dedicated to encouraging the creation of new works by American composers. The OMTA Composer of the Year Award recognizes outstanding talent in Oregon by commissioning a new work from the selected composer.

OMTA Honorary Life Membership

The Oregon Music Teachers Association (OMTA) State Honorary Life Member award brings recognition to individuals who have given extraordinary service to OMTA at both the district and state levels and who have been members of OMTA for at least 25 years.
